4 Best Places for a Home Lift
Home Lift Cambodia companies love one question from architects.
Lift companies work with lots of architects, constructors and designers, but far too often they are brought in late into the process, and try to find the best lift solution to match an already designed plan. However, sometimes, they are brought in early and the magic happens with a simple question:
“Where do you recommend we place the lift?”
They love this question because, as it turns out, there is indeed a BEST place to put a home lift – but it needs to be planned for ahead of time.
Home Lift in the Middle of the Stairs
This is by far the favorite. Why? First, and most importantly, it transforms a lift from a utilitarian tool into a showpiece of our clients’ homes. Instead of revealing “Oh, and there’s also a lift here!” it becomes “Wow. What a beautiful lift.”
Choosing an all-glass lift in the middle of the stairs allows clients to create a unique and dazzling feel every time they change floors – no matter whether they use the lift or the stairs!

An obvious and added benefit of course, is the fact that a lift in the middle of the stairs saves space. The space in the middle of the stairs is always lost, and this over a number of stories. But with a lift, that space is put to perfect use, freeing up a few square meters on every single floor. Bigger corridors, walk-in closets or bathroom extensions.
Finally, middle of the stairs provides a logical location. Usually, clients like their stairs and their home lift to be in the same area – the “transportation to a different floor” place, and what better combination than having the stairs wrap around!
The only downside: you need to choose a 360 degree glass lift for maximum effect. Only a few companies do that: Cibes Lift Cambodia and Kalea Lifts.
Semi-Outdoor Home Lift Cambodia
What is the difference between an outdoor and a semi-outdoor lift? An outdoor lift has all parts outdoor: the shaft, the roof, and the doors. If it’s raining, you will exit the lift into rain.
Meanwhile, a semi-outdoor lift is installed outdoor, but has all the doors facing inwards. This is perfect as it provides better protection to the most water-sensitive part of the lift (the doors). It also allows customers to stay inside throughout their travel.
As a final plus – it looks absolutely gorgeous from outside and inside. Customers can look over their property and their home, and take in the sights. In the evening, higher-end models light up the entire shaft with LEDs, resulting in a uniquely splendid effect.
But what if the customer is concerned about privacy?
Fret not, for there are a number of solutions for the privacy-minded customer. The first, and most popular, is the strategic use of glass. Specifically, some companies only install one glass panel per floor, offering a window outside while providing complete privacy everywhere else.
Another option is to use tinted glass, either on all sides or only one side. Companies such as Cibes will offer a wide range of tinted glass, from smoky grey and milky white to mirror black.
Home Lift In a Shaft
Sometimes, architects contact home lift Cambodia companies having already built a shaft, and ask them to place our lift inside of it.
While this is not a favorite location for a home lift Cambodia (home lifts should stand out!), there is a special range of lifts designed specifically for existing shafts. These utilize all the benefits of screw-drive technology to offer amazing space gains.
Simply put: given a fixed size shaft, those can usually fit far more people into a screw-driven lift than a traditional traction.
That being said, not all shafts are created equal, and lift companies will also work with existing shafts to make them special. They can decorat them, cut out glass sides or simple making use of our glass doors to create a truly amazing experience.
In a Corner
For existing homes, sometimes the availability of space is extremely limited, and there is no choice but to suggest a corner of the house.
Even for those solutions though, a lift can provide a unique advantage by minimizing the impression of lost space.
How is that done? Simply put, some lift companies can offer lifts with 2-sides glass to maintain the illusion of space. Instead of closing up a section with new walls, they simply introduce a glassed-off area. The result: space impression is maintained, and accessibility is much improved.
